Dataquest Solutions are providing free seminars to groups of four or more people.

What is the format of the seminar?

The seminar is designed to introduce the basics of data acquisition before moving onto the choice of hardware and software for different applications. Subjects covered include:-

• Data acquisition terminology, signal types, accuracy verses resolution.
• Use of analogue inputs/outputs. Speed verses resolution
• Digital inputs/outputs and communication protocols.
• Signal conditioning (amplification, attenuation, filtering).
• Sources of measurement error - and ways to avoid them!
• Acquisition hardware; Special considerations for ultra high speed operation.
• Triggering methods.
• Going portable with a Notebook PC. Docking Station solutions.
• Acquisition software. Communicating with the data acquisition hardware, through code, graphical programming and easy to use "out of the box software".
• Finally to bring everything together, a practical demonstration of a data acquisition system in operation.

The seminar is in the form of a Powerpoint presentation, but with the main points talked around, rather than as a regimented dictation - with time for questions to be asked. If you have a specific application we will be pleased to help further. There will be no "hard sell"; rather we see this seminar as a way to heighten our profile within the data acquisition field and as the people to talk to about data acquisition solutions.
