1 to 4 bit Mode
The Mi.7005 has a unique and special mode, that allows just one , two or four bit pattern widths to be selected in the generation or acquisition of digital signals. Normally digital I/O boards fill out to at least 8 bits (1 byte) and memory has to be assigned to account for this. Using the "1 to 4 " bit mode a more efficient use of memory is performed, so that pattern generation and acquisiton time is extended using on board memory and less bandwidth for data transfer across the PCI bus too, so that direct use of PC RAM and hardrive is more possible. For most PC's the use of 1 ,2 or 4 bit will allow 125 Mega sample I/O rates. This board can also be used in "normal" mode for 8 and 16 bit widths.
